Chapter 06: At the Hospital
Day Six: Open Surgery
Losing all the various tubes and being allowed the freedom of the ward makes a difference to your recovery, and hopefully you'll be able to lose them today or tomorrow. At the time you'll not feel like doing much more than sitting and watching the ward life, maybe even reading, but it is nice to know you can get up when you wish and go to the loo.
The Stoma Nurse starts to spend less and less time with you as you get quicker at the change and more confident at dealing with the Stoma. By now the stoma should have passed it's first motion.
